Davis Roofing Ltd was formed in 1979, by Richard Davis. The company started trading from an office and yard in West Street, Bedminster, flat roofing was the main trade. Davis roofing soon expanded into the tiled roofing market taking on domestic and commercial work. Davis Roofing has always been a pro-active company and as new roofing products were developed and came on to the market, expansion was inevitable.
The first move of premise was in 1994 to Church Road, Bishopsworth, and with the increase in office and yard size, the company once more expanded. A full time surveyor was employed, extra office staff were needed and the work force increased to twenty. Skilled tradesman in all aspects of roofing were now required.
These years saw Davis Roofing establish themselves as one of the larger roof companies in Bristol, working for local authorities, government offices, universities, schools, health trust and housing associations. The domestic market has always been important to Davis roofing and the increase in this sector continued to grow.
Richard Davis grew up in the building trade, his father being a skilled bricklayer, therefore expanding the company once more and moving into the building side of the industry was an accepted progression, this soon become a design and build service.
2008 saw Davis Roofing move to new built offices (designed and built by Richard Davis) in South Liberty Lane, the company has now grown to in excess of forty, including four surveyors, office staff and skilled tradesman.
Recent roofing projects include major roof works at the dockside museum, Bristol and Bath universities, and high rise council blocks.
